Just A Little Post

So Matthew and my mom got home safely from their Compassion trip to Mexico! When they got back it was non-stop stories about different things on the way home. It was fun hearing about all their little adventures while they were there. The next day my mom showed us all the pictures she took on her camera. There was so many! But I loved seeing all the happy kids faces! And then their was our sponsored child who was just adorable! They said they knew who it was when they saw his hair! It was lots of fun looking at pictures and hearing stories.

I had to get back to doing my school this week and honestly it felt very very normal. Like I should be doing it for the rest of my life during my day. Although I know that feeling will go away once it gets closer to summer and I don't want to be doing school. My favorite subject right now is art. I love doing art and I love learning about how I can do it better! Second in line is writing. Although it can be confusing sometimes it has been very fun and I have learned a lot! Third I guess would have to be science. That sometimes is very very confusing and I have to go back and re-read a chapter to figure out what it was saying. Last would have to be math. Yes it's probably everyone's most hated subject but some of those things just don't make sense to me. Like why would you want to undo an equation? But I guess I will need to know it someday so I will keep on learning. I have to say though that my own personal bible time has been so much fun and my most favorite! I am going through a Sherlock Holmes devotional and it is very good! I might just have to re-read it after I'm done with it!

Sorry, I don't have any pictures up but it hasn't really been a picture worthy week... Oh well...

Today though we had Panda Express for lunch! It was so good and I'm so glad that we have a Panda here in town! After we were done eating we left the box out and soon the house smelled like chow mein! It was an amazing smell.

That's all I have for today but I will be posting again soon and hopefully with some pictures!

Oh and one more thing. I have been writing letters to a friend just recently and in one of my letters I had written a sort of a poem in it. It was about how much I love spring! So here it is:

I can't wait for Spring! I love the smell of the air and the gentle breeze of the wind passing through the trees. I love being able to stay outside all day long and hearing the chirping of the birds in the trees. The way the sun beams down on the trees making the leaves glow. The small delicate shoots of gem green grass pushing through the dirt. Oh and the day, the first day, that you finally get to wear a short sleeve shirt and shorts. The sweet smell of flowers blooming drifting through the air. The sound of a lawn mower next door and sitting by an open window letting the breeze through. And the first couple of rain showers making everything glitter and gleam.

And then of course once Summer comes to an end, I can't wait for Fall and Winter. The cripness of the air after rain and the smell of something baking and candles burning in the house. I'm glad God made Spring because it's the most beautiful time of year. I don't know what I would do without it!

So there's my 'poem'!

Compassion Letter Writing Night and more of Saturdays

Well, once a month on Friday nights we do a Compassion Letter Writing Night. Basically, it's a night when some of the church family that sponser children come and write letters to their child\children. My mom comes up with different ideas of things we can make and send to our children. Last night we made finger paintings and cut out on cardstock their names. Then we are going to glue to letters on to the painted paper. Here is some photos I took while we were there:

Here are some of my paintings (Again I am sorry they are sideways)

We were using tape but it was ripping the paper so we used paper letters instead

Everyone said that it looks like the cover of a Dr. Suess book :)

Some of my mom's paintings

I thought I would do something different

These are the paper letters we used to glue on the paper

My dad's was so cool!

This one looks like tye-dye. Don't you think?

So this is what I did today. Me and my mom went to a u-pick blueberry and cherry place this morning. It was really windy and is still really windy. We had lots of fun, I thought I almost lost my mom when we were picking cherries. :)

A new book I am reading. It's the sequel to Eight Cousins, which is the sequel to Little Women I think.

Since I can't have dessert at night, (because it messes with my tummy), I thought I would have some with lunch. Yum! Any guesses on what I had? Hint: What did me and my mom pick this morning? And what can you cut like a pizza that is a dessert?

"To this day you must be a stranger to one of your parents. If you don't marry Mr. Collins, your mother will never see you again. But if you marry Mr. Collins, I will never see you again." I love this movie... :)

I got a letter from a friend today! Thank you, Miranda! I will put my letter in the mail on Monday!

My book of poems. I thought I would decorate it a bit.

I got a new shirt today! Always have hope!

Gasp! I didn't know my mom was in Pride and Prejudice! :)

That's all for today folks! I hoped you enjoyed today's blog post! :) :) :) :)

Our Crazy Busy Week!

Our town does an Apricot Fiesta. There are all sorts of vendors and food. Our church does a Lemonade in the Shade thing. There is a kiddie pool, hot dogs, cotton candy, snow cones and a bounce house. All for free!

For American Heritage Girls, the city asks us to have a coke booth, where we sell different kinds of drinks. It got pretty muddy there, but someone thought about putting cardboard on the ground to keep it some what dry. So when we were doing our shift, it was still a little bit muddy. My feet could tell all! :)

These are my feet a little bit after we had been working (sorry that it's upside-down I took it with my iPod and I don't know why it did that)

Where the water was had to be the muddiest spot there

Me and another little girl went around asking for boxes when we needed more

And these are my feet after we were done working our shift

So today we went to a blueberry farm with our friends. We picked a TON of blueberries. Well, we picked about 10 pounds. I don't know if you would call that a lot or not. We haven't beat my uncles amount of blueberries though. He pick 30 pounds of blueberries when he went! We also went to go see a dollar movie at the theather. It was the Kit Kittrage movie. She is a American Girl Doll. They have made a movie out of three other dolls. While we were in the car on the way back (I think it was the way back) the girls and I took some silly pictures. Nora is 7 (I think) and she is the one with the dark short hair and Lilly is 6 and 3/4th (as she says it) and she is the one with the blond short hair.

The start of some crazy silly pictures! :)

Me and my silly faces

It almost looks like Lilly is punching me! Lol!

I just kept taking pictures......

We ended up laughing the whole time :)

Okay so, moving on. I cut my hair about (oh let's see) 4 inches. You should have seen the animal living in our trash can! It feels really nice now that it's short! I can brush it out easier and braid it faster. My cousin Jessie will be glad that I cut it, she has always wanted it this short!

It is a little bit wavy on the ends, but not as curly as when I was about two or three!

Yes, I am sure you are wondering why in the world do I have a piece of tissue in my mouth. Well, I will tell you. I had a molar that was loose (really loose) and it was time for it to come out. I didn't want it hanging there anymore so I pulled it out. I thought that I was never going to pull another tooth out. (I had a while back). But, I had too. Now I have a gap where the tooth was!

Okay now on to the poems. I have been writing quite a few lately. When someone says something about the weather or about the season I just get the lines in my head. And then I have to write them down. So here is a few:

Summer is fun with friends
You can play in the pool
You can laugh your heads off
While drinking lemonade
And while sitting on the porch
We will laugh and play
All day long and in to the night
Then we'll go to bed
And do it all over again

Here is another one:

Lemonade is nice!
When it's 90 degrees!
You can sit on the porch,
With a fan in your hand!

You can sit with friends
Or sit by yourself
While you enjoy ice cold
Lemonade!

Last one:

It's not looking alot
Like Summer outside
The sky's are gray
And it's pouring down rain

You can hear the cars go by
Splashing the water around
And the rain coming down
It just doesn't feel like summer

Thank you for reading my lastest blog post! I think I set a record for the world's longest blog post! :)

Dad's B-day and Roaring Camp

This week we stayed at Roaring Camp for a Civil War Re-enactment. We went on Tuesday and stayed until Monday. By Monday I really wanted to go home, take a shower, and sleep in my own bed. I was really glad once we got home! :) So last week I wanted to go out on the field as a Corpsman (medic). I got dressed in a uniform and had lots of fun! I think my mom got a picture of me smiling on the field.

It is tradition (have any of you seen Fiddler on the Roof? The word tradition makes me think of the song.) that we decorate the house for my dad's birthday since we are not always there to celebrate. Now I like to go crazy with the balloons and signs, so the house was filled of things to celebrate my dad's birthday. I took pictures of everything in the house and also some of the Civil War Re-enactment.

I thought that I would put some stuff up in my dad's bedroom :)

I like to use my stuffed animals

I got the verse idea from a book

There always has to be a balloon on the fan!

Our homemade happy birthday sign

I have such a great dad.... :)

I really like the double balloon style!

I REALLY LOVE MY DAD!!!

Our amazingly stuffed car. You can buy it for only $19.99! (Just kidding, I had to do that!)

The little space that I have.... Bummer....

This little guy was so cute!

We were on the other side of Roaring Camp this year! We had more shade this time! :)

The Lone Tent

So awesome!

Me, Matthew, and Mom like to squat down to get pictures

These three shots are my favorites!

This spot got filled up with tents during the weekend

The last day...Drinking some root beer and reading Pride and Prejudice...I was so ready to go home....

Since all we had for my dad's birthday was store bought cupcakes, my mom made an apple pie for his "cake" today. Looking forward to eating it with some vanilla ice cream! Yum!

The week and weekend went really well. It was really nice to sleep in my own bed last night instead of a creaky and hard cot. I have 204 more pages to go in Pride and Prejudice. That book makes me want to read it out loud. Even more when I get to a Mrs. Bennet part. Okay so here is another poem:

There once was a flower
It was there every hour
It was so pretty and fair
That I wouldn't even dare
To touch it because it's so rare

Here is another one:

There was a gingerbread man in my backyard
I wondered what he was doing there
I checked the oven and one wasn't there
So I tried to catch him, but he kept slipping away

I will get him one day no matter how far I go
I won't let him out of sight until I get that one
I really don't know how he can see
For I didn't even put eyes on him!

The next blog post I do, I will make sure I put as many poems as I can. We met a woman that came over from England and is re-enacting with her family. She asked my mom if I liked poems and my mom said that I have been writing some. Well, one thing led to another and she said that if it was alright, she would send over some books of poems to me and that I can keep them for awhile. I thought that was so cool! Well, we are going to have pizza for dinner and my mom just stuck it in the oven, so I better go so she can have enough time to read my blog post and then post it! TTFN! Ta Ta For Now!

Yosemite for Mother's Day

For Mother's Day we decided that we would go to Yosemite, since it is my mom's favorite place to go. And we couldn't think of anywhere else to go. I forgot my camera (plus it fell off my bed and the settings wheel is all messed up) so I had to bring my iPod to take pictures. It was awkward at first, but then I saw all the people that were using their iPhones.

We saw a lot of these little red flowers. We looked them up when we got home and saw that they are called Snow Plants. I really don't know why they are called that but my dad said that maybe it's because you can see them in the snow. I think maybe he's right.

 I really like this shot
This tree was huge!

My awesome log shot

I thought these were pretty cool

The bugs there were massive. Even the ants.

My woodland shot

These were the Snow Plants I was talking about

This reminded me of when Mary and Mary were going to visit Jesus in the grave. All I need is a angel sitting on the rock.

We went up to Glacier Point. The view was amazing!

Postcard shot!

Someone was saying there should be a zip line down to the hotel. That would be one long line...

My brother has a shot like this, but we were at the Grand Canyon when he took the shot.

There was also snow up at Glacier Point

There are lots of trees in Yosemite

So I can say I intromit a letter in the mailbox for my cousin? That's awesome.

If you have watched Star Wars you would be thinking the same thing right now. Where is the Ewok and Princess Leia?

The whole day was really fun. We got to explore some places that we haven't seen before and my mother really enjoyed it. Oh, and about the picture of the word of the day, that was just a random photo that I took a few days before. So since I wanted to post more poems I will write another one.

I wrote a blog
And I have lots of fun,
And only word I can think of is bog,
To rhyme with blog

I post lots of pictures
And write lots of words,
You can't rhyme with pictures
So I guess this will have to do

I hope you enjoyed reading about our trip! :)
